How We Met

Thank You Country Music.

Josh and I first met each other back in 2008 at the start of our senior year of High School. We dated for almost a year but eventually, we went our separate ways. Fast forward to the summer of 2014 at the Blue Ridge Music Festival. I was having the time of my life dancing the night away with one of my best friends when I ran into Josh again. I remember smiling ear-to-ear when we made eye contact and my stomach fluttering. We talked briefly, exchanged numbers and said our goodbyes. It wasn't until a month later that we finally spent time together and we've been inseparable ever since. Josh has and will always be the love of my life. He's my best friend, my other half and my calm during the storm. Words cannot describe how excited we are to finally tie the knot and start the rest of our lives together as husband and wife.

How He Asked

On The Road Again

When I think back to our proposal, I can't help smiling because it was so us. We were on the way home from our annual Family beach trip when he asked me. I had been hoping for him to pop the question all week. I remember the anticipation at each dinner, every day we spent on the beach or every sunset walk on the pier. However, nothing happened all week. My heart fell as we loaded the car with our suitcases and I remember the sadness that filled me as I got in the passenger seat. I said a silent goodbye to our condo but also to our shot at marriage. Looking back now those feelings are so silly to me. I don't know why I had it in my mind that if he didn't ask me that week then he never would. I sure was in for a surprise though! An hour into our drive home, Josh started asking me random wedding questions. Questions like, what I envisioned for our big day, what style dress I would want and what would our daughter wear. I wasn't in the mood to talk about our hypothetical wedding and I was about to tell him just that! I was too busy doing a word search, that I didn't notice him pull the ring out of his pocket. When I finally looked up to give him a piece of my mind, I could not say anything at all. He looked so handsome smiling over at me with my ring in his shaky hand. He asked me to marry him and of course, I said yes. His nerves had gotten the best of him that week, but as we packed the car up, Josh made up his mind to ask me on our journey home. It was absolutely perfect and I am counting down the days till we say "I do".
