With 2.5 hours drive time to Grand Lake, DIA is the most convenient airport to fly to. Please note that weekend traffic to and from Denver can get congested on weekends. Keep this in mind especially if you head back to Denver for a flight on Sunday, August 24.

Public transportation to Grand Lake is limited. The most convenient option is booking a rental car. However, we have listed some other potential options below. Home James offers private shuttles from DIA to Grand Lake. We recommend getting a large group together to fill a van and split the cost if this option works for you. https://www.ridehj.com/ RTD is Denver public transportation that offers a light rail from DIA to Union Station. https://www.rtd-denver.com/routes-services/airport From Union Station you can then pick up the bus service, Bustang, to Granby. https://ridebustang.com/ OR take the Amtrak to Granby. https://www.amtrak.com/home.html Granby is 20 minutes from Grand Lake and we could then find someone to pick you up. Grand Lake has NO Uber, Lyft, or taxi. Please plan accordingly.

Highway 34 from Estes Park to Grand Lake is a popular route. If you choose to take this, please note it goes through Rocky Mountain National Park and therefore a reservation is required from 9 AM - 2 PM every day. Plan accordingly and let Cierra know if you have questions

There can be traffic back to Denver via Highway 40 and I-70 on Sundays that adds significant drive time. Please plan accordingly, especially if you have a Sunday flight and maybe even consider staying until Monday so you don't have to worry about it.
