On April 7, 2024, Luke and Meredith both found themselves playing ultimate frisbee with a group from Matthias' Lot Church at a local high school. After a few months of admiring each other's athletic abilities from afar, Luke took the plunge to invite himself to join Meredith's summer sand volleyball league where he could show off more of his skills. This proved to be just the right move. After the volleyball league ended, Meredith found a way to keep the weekly interactions going by showing up at an open gym volleyball where she knew Luke would be. On October 6th, back on the frisbee field where it all started, Luke finally built up the courage to ask Meredith on an official date.
