Things To Do

We're so excited to share a few of our favorite places with you! The surrounding Charlottesville area is full of history, good food, and plenty of natural beauty.
Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park

Charlottesville, VA

We went here on several dates, and this is a true gem of a park. Take the scenic Skyline Drive as far as you'd like or pull off for some of our favorite hikes including Turk Mountain, Riprap Trail, and Humpback Rocks. You will need to pay to access the park for the day and can do so at the park entrance. Humpback Rocks is free as it's just a quick mile up and back and outside park lines.

Monticello Wine Trail

Monticello Wine Trail

Charlottesville, VA

The wineries on the Monticello Wine Trail have all been inspired by Thomas Jefferson’s vision of grape growing and winemaking. Come indulge in all the trail has to offer with its deep historic significance and lush views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's a build your own adventure kind of activity where you can select the wineries you're interested in, and the system will map it for you!

The Charlottesville 29

The Charlottesville 29

Charlottesville, VA

Looking to eat your way through the weekend?! Here is a list of all the best restaurants Charlottesville has to offer. It's updated annually and represents a variety of cuisines from fine French dining to blow your mind BBQ joints.

Knight's Gambit Vineyard

Knight's Gambit Vineyard

218 Knole Farm Lane, Charlottesville, VA 22901

Hands down one of Nicole's favorite wineries. Check it out if you're looking for horse-filled pastures, quaint Adirondack chairs, and an enviable sunset view.

Downtown Mall

Downtown Mall

Charlottesville, VA 22902

The downtown mall is home to various speciality shops and restaurants whether you're looking for a rare book or nice, outdoor spot for a bite to eat. For a secret, speakeasy bar to grab a cocktail, go to The Alley Light.

University of Virginia

University of Virginia

Charlottesville, VA

If you haven't visited UVA to see the rotunda and walk grounds, it is a beautiful place. Bring a picnic lunch from the corner nearby and a blanket to the lawn for some sun and people watching. Only summer school students will remain, so you'll have the whole place to yourself!
