Nick - I recall vividly trying to play it cool at the rotary center as I started to slow dance with Maddie Crittenden. This was it. Time to ask this cheerleader if she would be my girlfriend. In hindsight, I wasn’t that cool, I was sweaty, and I’m pretty sure my voice cracked. She said yes though and I thank the Lord for that each day. Five years later I got down on one knee and asked that same cheerleader if she would marry me. I still wasn’t that cool, I was still sweaty, but my voice was clear and steady because it was the most sure I’ve ever been about anything. She said yes and now I’ll get to slow dance with her forever. Maddie - On December 19th 2012 (my sophomore year and Nick's junior year of high school) after many years of being a brace face I finally had my braces removed. THE NICHOLAS KOHLMANN SHOOK MY HAND TO TELL ME “your teeth look good.” Sitting next to one of my good friends, who was very adamant about Nick and I dating, at a desktop computer in the Swansboro High School library. It’s worth noting he said this very professionally, staying very on brand for Nick Kohlmann. Then my Christmas wish was granted on December 26th, I tweeted “#TeamNoTextsSnapChatsFunRunRequestsMentionsOrFriends”, obviously trying to get Nick to pity me. Ladies and gentlemen it worked because @ColorMeKohlmann tweeted me back saying “@madison_anne01 what’s your snap chat then?!” This is where our story starts. Now, I cannot wait to see where our story takes us next.
