Since the opportunity to meet someone the "normal" way was out of the question in Spring 2020, I (Cristy) decided to be brave and join Catholic Match at the end of May 2020. $90 for a six month subscription seemed a lot when other apps are free. However, I decided to give it a shot, hoping I would not need more than six months. As I was finishing up my profile to attract the ideal Catholic candidate, Patrick sent me a "Welcome!" message. I was intrigued and continued the conversation. After a couple of long zoom dates, we decided to meet in person in the beautiful Stewart park in Ithaca. Nervous at first, we discovered that real life dating was by far superior to zoom dating and never looked back. We have been inseparable since, accumulating walks, hikes, laughter, masses and books over the course of the next months. Before completing a fun list of questions from the New York Times "36 Questions that Lead to Love", wherein we shared the best and most difficult parts of ourselves with each other, we realized already that we were meant to be together.

Ya que conocer a alguien de la forma "normal" no era posible en medio del encierro, decidí (Cristy) darle una oportunidad a Catholic Match a finales de mayo del 2020. $90 USD ($1,800!) parecía excesivo para una membresía de 6 meses, sobre todo cuando otras apps son gratis. Sin embargo, decidí probarlo, esperando no tener que renovar después de ese periodo. Justo cuando terminaba de darle los últimos toques a mi perfil para atraer al candidato ideal, Patrick me manda un mensaje de bienvenida. Intrigada, continué la conversación. Después de dos largas citas por Zoom, decidimos vernos en persona en Stewart Park, en Ithaca. Nos dimos cuenta de que salir en persona era, por mucho, mejor a platicar por zoom y desde entonces nos volvimos inseparables. En estos meses hemos acumulado caminatas, acampadas, misa, risas, y muchos libros. En una de nuestras citas, al responder las preguntas del "36 preguntas para enamorarse" del New York Times, nos dimos cuenta de que éramos el uno para el otro.
