Our top recommendation for anyone visiting the Sonoran Desert for the first time! This living museum is part zoo/part botanical garden. While you are there, the "Raptor Free Flight" show is a must-see!
We met at UofA and always love walking around the beautiful campus! Some walking tour highlights include Old Main, the main mall, the Environment and Natural Resources 2 Building and the Women's Plaza of Honor. There are also lots of great spots to eat at Main Gate Square/University Blvd. just west of campus!
A great place for food and exploring Tucson art! We love listening to live music and watching the turtles in the pond while having a meal in the courtyard.
There are so many great shops, bars, and restaurants to check out on Historic 4th Ave. Some of our favorite spots are Boca Tacos Y Tequila, Cafe Passe coffee shop, and Antigone Books.
There are lots of great places to explore downtown! Some of our favorite places to hang out or have a meal are Hotel Congress and Maynard's Market.
One of our favorite spots for brunch and desserts! This outdoor market hosts many different food vendors and a beautiful courtyard.
An incredible scenic drive filled with amazing overlooks of Tucson and the Santa Catalina Mountains. There are tons of great hiking options along the drive up this "Sky Island" as well!
We love to hike and there are tons of options of all difficulties around the Tucson area. If you want any suggestions, please let us know!
Saguaro National Park is located on both the west and east sides of Tucson. We love the park and there are many great views BUT.....if you only have limited time in Tucson, we would recommend either visiting the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (which is located directly on the boundary of Saguaro National Park West) or driving up to Mt. Lemmon on the Catalina Highway (which is located on the Sky Islands adjacent to the Rincon Mountains in Saguaro Park East).
