Cristina and Martin vaguely knew of each other during high school. Time passed, nonetheless. Cristina’s great friend and roommate Cynthia dragged her as her plus one to a wedding (Alejandra and Choko) on August 2009. At the infamous wedding Martin said hi to Cynthia and to present her friend. Cristina was not impressed as Martin seemed to be accompanied. The following day Martin contacted Alejandra and Choko (yes on their honeymoon) to inquire about Cristina (the wedding crasher in essence). Martin contacted Cristina through MySpace (remember Myspace) where Martin was turned down twice. Martin persevered and in late November 2009 Cristina accepted a movie date expecting for it to be another opportunity to turn him down. Martin's charm worked and the rest is their story.

Martin and Cristina had their final date as boy friend and girl friend. They visited the movies as they did their first date. Before heading to their homes Martin gave Cristina a very important speech on how he no longer wanted to be her long distance boyfriend but instead her husband.

Cristina and Martin got married at The Little Wedding Chapel in Taylor, MI accompanied by 15 family members.

Initially Cristina and Martin focused on being a married couple, their careers, buying a home and travel. In March of 2016 they welcomed their fur baby Gizmo. Their greatest blessing yet, their rainbow baby, Martin Itzae arrived March 10, 2018.
