We're so excited to celebrate with you!

Jose and I met at salsa dance lessons where we were partnered up for a brief moment. We really didn't have an opportunity to talk that day but we kept seeing each other at dance lessons. One night, my friend invited me to go out to Westport with her and some of her friends. When we went to Westport, I saw Jose there with the group we were going to meet. Our group had a great time that night and we danced all night long. Afterwards, we all wanted to keep hanging out since we had such a great time so we would try to hang out every weekend. Jose and I grew our friendship as we hung out with our group of friends and by ourselves. He helped me move in to my apartment, hang my shelves, on the Fourth of July he even tried to rescue my phone and keys when they fell in the storm drain. Throughout our time as friends, our friendship blossomed into a relationship as we got to know each other and care for one another.

José y yo nos conocimos en las lecciones de baile de salsa donde nos asociamos por un breve momento. Realmente no tuvimos la oportunidad de hablar ese día, pero mos veiamos cada vez que ibamos a clase de baile. Una noche, mi amiga me invitó a ir a Westport con ella y algunos de sus amigos. Cuando fuimos a Westport, vi a José allí con el grupo que íbamos a encontrarnos. Nuestro grupo se lo pasó genial esa noche y bailamos toda la noche. Después, todos queríamos seguir saliendo juntos, ya que lo pasamos muy bien, así que intentábamos pasar todos los fines de semana juntos. José y yo aumentamos nuestra amistad mientras salíamos con nuestro grupo de amigos y solos. Me ayudó a mudarme a mi apartamento, a colgar mis estantes, el 4 de julio incluso trató de rescatar mi teléfono y mis llaves cuando se cayeron al desagüe pluvial. Durante nuestro tiempo como amigos, nuestra amistad se convirtió en una relación.

Jose had to work hard to get me out of the house as it was the weekend and I usually don't leave the house when it is cold. With the assistance of my sisters and mother, he had them take me out to get my nails done so that I would be ready for the big surprise! His next challenge was to get me to leave the house again for the actual proposal. He came up with the excuse that we didn't take enough pictures together and since he knew that I love looking at Christmas lights, he convinced me to get dressed up, go look at Christmas lights, and to take pictures. He drove us around to several neighborhoods and we looked at different Christmas lights, taking pictures, and making our final stop at the Plaza. As we were setting up our tri-pod, he started recording while he got down on one knee and proposed. Afterwards, we went to eat at Fogo de Chao where we enjoyed a great dinner and dessert, but that was not the final surprise. When we got home, the house was decorated beautifully. There was a walkway lite up with lights and balloons leading us to the balloon arch and lots of flowers. He got assistance from my mom and sisters to decorate our home and make the night even more memorable!

José tuvo que trabajar duro para sacarme de la casa, ya que era fin de semana y normalmente no salgo de casa cuando hace frío. Con la ayuda de mis hermanas y mi madre, hizo que me llevaran a hacerme las uñas para que estuviera lista para la gran sorpresa. Su siguiente desafío fue conseguir que volviera a salir de casa por la propuesta real. Se le ocurrió la excusa de que no tomamos suficientes fotos juntos y, como sabía que me encanta mirar las luces de Navidad, me convenció de que me vistiera, fuera a ver las luces de Navidad y tomara fotos. Nos llevó a varios vecindarios y miramos diferentes luces navideñas, tomamos fotos y hicimos nuestra última parada en la Plaza. Mientras preparábamos nuestro trípode, empezó a grabar mientras se arrodillaba y me propuso matrimonio. Después fuimos a comer a Fogo de Chao donde disfrutamos de una gran cena y postre, pero esa no fue la sorpresa final. Cuando llegamos a casa, la casa estaba hermosamente decorada. Había una pasarela iluminada con luces y globos que nos llevaban al arco de globos y muchas flores. ¡Recibió ayuda de mi mamá y mis hermanas para decorar nuestra casa y hacer que la noche fuera aún más memorable!
