This is our favorite area of Chicago and where Tina has lived/we spend our summers! There are SO many good restaurants over here... Trivoli Tavern, Sushi Dokku, Aba, Lyra, Duck Duck Goat, Girl & The Goat, Au Cheval & more! Our favorite coffee shop is in this area too - Sawada! There are also lots of shops over here including Lululemon, Beyond Yoga, Mejuri, Anthropologie, Madewell, Billy Reid & more. Lastly, there are so many fun spots for a drink/great nightlife over here including Nobu Rooftop, Texan Taco Bar, Cabra, Federales, Hide + Seek & more.
The classic Chicago river architecture boat tour with Shoreline Sightseeing is the best! This is one of our favorite things to do in summer on a nice day... always a great time.
We love the Riverwalk! For just strolling down, for a drink (or a few), or for all of the amazing restaurants that are nearby. For a drink, go to Tiny Tapp or City Winery! For a great meal with great vibes, go to Pizzeria Portofino or RPM Seafood.
For any shoppers... A popular, mile-long stretch between Oak Street and the river; Oak Street is a posh stretch of designer shops such as Armani, Prada, Barneys NY and Kate Spade. Along Michigan Avenue you can find anything you could want, including three glorious malls: Bloomingdales Building at 900 Michigan Avenue, Water Tower Place at 835 Michigan Avenue, and Chicago Place at 700 N Michigan Avenue.
If you plan to come to Chicago early and there's a game on Thursday or Friday during the day, we highly recommend you go! Wrigley is so much fun.
One Block North of Michigan Avenue you will find a huge sandy beach. Continue North on the walkway to Lincoln Park Zoo!
