It is said to be home of one of the most beautiful beaches in Spain. Las Islas Cies, is an island in which one must take a 45 minute ferry to get to. It does not have any hotels, BUT it does offer camping. There are restaurants that one can stop, have a drink and enjoy the fresh food! However, prior to going it is very important to purchase a ticket. Since it will be summer the tickets are sold really quickly, so if you wish to visit please book ahead of time!
The party doesn't have to stop after the wedding!! The famous "Fiesta del Albariño" is held in Cambados, where if you enjoy wine as much as I do, this is the place for you ! This all day event essentially has you bar hopping trying all different types of wine famous to the region. The fiesta begins on August 3rd and ends on August 7th.
The cathedral is the reputed burial place of Saint James the Great, the apostle of Jesus Christ. It is also last stop of the infamous pilgramige route called El Camino de Santiago. We highly recommend visiting this historical architecture and have some food and shop artisanal goods in the town center.
Also known as "end of the known world" according to the Romans, Fininsterre is a rock bound peninsula which can be very windy but is said to have one of the most beautiful sunsets. There are many small shops with beautiful hand made crafts. It is also part of the infamous Camino de Santiago.
If you are interesting in history this is the place for you! This is the excavated site of an old Celtic fortress settlement. Of all the Galician forts, this section is the most well preserved. There over 20 small establishments that were built starting the 1st century B.C. You can visit this landmark at any time since it does not require a reservation.
If you are the adventorous type you will love these natural cascading springs. It does require a small hike so come prepared, however, you'll be met with cystal clear waters. Enjoy a nice dip and soak up the sun! Don't forget some snacks and drinks.
