It was a Friday Night Bible Study in October at Pastor Kevin Huang's house. I walked in and held the door for a guy I had never met before. Kevin asked if we knew each other, since we came in together. I said, "No, I don't know him..." and quickly introduced myself with an embarrassed, "Hi!" Cristian met my eyes with a big ole smile and a warm and hardy, "Hello!" The first thing he told me was that his name's Cristian without an "H" and that he was from Romania. When the study was over, I got in the car and immediately called my mom to tell her about this Romanian cutie that didn't have an "H" in his name. His big personality and sweet smile instantly caught my attention, and I have grown to love that personality and that smile more and more each day. We're both so thankful that the Lord brought us together through a night of studying His word. We hope, God willing, that one day our kids will fall in love with a godly man or woman. They might even meet at a Friday Night Bible Study!
After being unable to see each other for three months because of Covid, Cristian was able to spend a weekend with me and my family. On the Saturday night of his stay, we set up a DND game to play with my siblings, which is one of our favorite activities to do as a couple. The goal of the story Cristian created was to find a missing treasure chest. After a few hours of our exciting imaginative journey, we at last reached the treasure. At that moment, Cristian brought out a small box and said he was going to act out this part of the game in real life. Up to this point, I had absolutely no idea of Cristian's plans. when he began walking towards with me with the box, it finally clicked in my head as to what was going on. He said "although you all found the treasure, the real treasure was you all along." At this moment he opened the box revealing a gorgeous ring and asked, "Madison, will you marry me?" Tears filled my eyes as I exclaimed, "YESSSS". I snatched the ring out of the box and almost got it all the way on my finger before remembering that he was supposed to do that part. He put the ring on my finger and I have yet to stop smiling. We are both so grateful to the Lord for allowing us to take part in the blessing of marriage. It is our goal to display God's glory by showing his sacrificial love for the body of Christ and the body's submission to their Lord and Savior through our marriage.
