Kate and Cris met as US Army officers during a rotation to Germany in 2022. They were introduced during a handover for shooting range point of contacts. Their first date was at a coffee and lunch spot in the local town. From there he was eventually invited to join the ladies card group in her hallway. After one of the other ladies got a tiny car, everyone went on weekend trips throughout the country to castles and vineyards and museums for the remainder of their time there. After coming back to the US, they moved in together in Texas.
