Rental Cars: All major rental car companies operate in Italy, and you can take your pick from 5+ options at major airports including Hertz, Enterprise, and Sixt. They all offer automatic transmissions, and are usually quite reasonable in cost. As an added bonus, picking up & dropping off rentals at different locations usually come at little additional cost. Private Transfers: Private Transfers are the simplest transportation option available, and can accommodate groups up to 7 people. They offer pickups from Milan, Verona, and Bergamo. Train: Salò and Gardone Riviera don’t have a train station, the closer to both is Desenzano del Garda on the line Milano Centrale-Desenzano del Garda/Sirmione. You can arrive from Milan with a regional train in about 1 hour and 20 minutes and with Frecciarossa (high speed train) in less than 1 hour.
