This is one of my favorite places to spend a weekend night. You will find yourself surrounded but (not the most comfortable) tree trunk-seats. Order some pitchers of their spiked juices or a fishbowl if you please. This place is great for big groups and having a few drinks!
Pueblito Paisa (Little Town) is located on the top of Nutibarra Hill (Cerro Nutibarra) in Medellin. This replica of a typical turn of the century Antioquia town comes complete with its traditional stone fountain in the middle of the town square and is surrounded by the church and rectory, the mayor’s office, a barber shop, and a one-room school house. Pueblito Paisa is an icon to the people of Antioquia (Antiqueños) since its inception, this attraction is a fun way to get a bird’s eye view of the city and surrounding mountains and valleys, as well as get away from the busting city below for an hour or so. Get your workout sneakers on and head out for a day trip to La Piedra del Penol also known as El Peñon de Guatapé. This 200m-high granite monolith has a brick stair case of 659 steps which rises up through a broad fissure in the side of the rock. From the top there are magnificent views of the region amid a vast expanse of green mountains. Take the road that curves up past the gas station (1km) to reach the parking lot at the base of the rock. Taxi drivers and horse owners will try to convince you that it's a long, exhausting climb but while it's steep, it's not far. At the base there are tourist shacks selling knickknacks and numerous restaurants serving lunch (from COP$8000 to COP$12,000, about $3-5 dollars). At the top of the rock, snack shacks sell fruit juice, ice cream and salpicón (fruit salad in watermelon juice). The town of Guatape also has some fun activities including water sports, so be sure to do your research before you head out for your day trip!
For a relaxed night eating some of the best wings in Medellin and drinking some beers, I 100% recommend Alitas The Wings Team. These are some of the best wings I've tried, EVER...and I'm not just saying that because my cousin is the owner :)
