Erica grew up going to the Aldrich, where her mom Wendy worked for many years, and where Erica eventually worked when Chris and Erica first moved to Ridgefield. Cliff continues to work with the museum for exhibitions and displays. We recommend taking your time walking around the galleries and enjoying the sculpture garden, a favorite kite-flying venue of Chris's. It's guaranteed to be beautiful in autumn!
Visit the home and studio of America's most beloved Impressionist, J. Alden Weir, and walk in the footsteps of generations of world-class artists. Set amidst more than 60 acres of painterly woods, fields, and waterways, you’ll soon see why Weir described his home as the "Great Good Place." Weir’s farm is a national legacy to American Impressionism, the creative spirit, and historic preservation.
One of our favorite nearby hiking areas is around the Saugatuck Reservoir in Redding, CT. There are plenty of access points and trails in the woods around the pristine reservoir, or to Saugatuck Falls, where we've been known to swim in the summer. Another one of our favorite hiking spots right around there is Devil's Den.
Our favorite CT beach for swimming, laying, walking, jogging, picnicking, biking, kite-flying, etc.
Visit the same harbor seals that have been in residence since Erica and her siblings went here as children!
The Norwalk Art Space opened in our neighborhood while we were living in Norwalk, and while we liked to peruse the open gallery's changing exhibitions, we mostly loved going to the Art Space Cafe, which has some seriously yummy sandwiches, salads, and pastries!
Very good very local brewery just a few minutes down Route 7 from Cliff's house. We love their big outdoor space and rotating food truck options!
You don't have to go all the way to New Haven to have Frank Pepe's famous coal-fired pizza! It does in fact live up to the hype.
A meat-eating Moran favorite in Georgetown for smoked meats and yummy comfort sides.
