Our paths crossed at DBC Bar… Steve on a break from charter fishing in Venice and Kirsten called out to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Funnily enough, Steve knew this friend well and sparks flew that night. Many months later, Steve moved in with Kirsten after Hurricane Ida… her power came on before his and that was that!

Steve proposed to Kirsten in Burnsville, North Carolina at the tail end of a very busy family Thanksgiving. The Crews family came from New Orleans and the Jacksons all came together to spend a week in the mountains. Steve tried to propose a few days before but between nephews, nieces, and dogs coupled with 16° weather, he grabbed her the last night to propose in the kitchen of the Airbnb.
