If you want to be walking distance to the venue, there are hotel and airbnb options in the immediate area. If you would like to be near the beach, Condado Beach or Isla Verde are great choices. Both of these locations would only be about 10-15 minute Uber to Old San Juan, where the venue is. Feel free to reach out to either of us when you have a place selected and want to double check the location.
If you plan on exploring the island while you are here, yes I would rent a car. But if you plan on sticking around San Juan, I would say no. Old San Juan is not a great place to drive and or find parking. Uber is the best way in and out.
The only area that we know of that we would not recommend wandering into is called “La Pearla” it is small neighborhood located On the north central coast of Old San Juan.
