FAQs

RSVP NO LATER THAN JUNE 1st FOR BOAT RIDE! LATE RSVP = NO BOAT RIDE GUARANTEED PLEASE CONTACT BROOKE WITH QUESTIONS 1-907-521-0424
Question

Where will guests sleep if staying?

Answer

You will need a tent if you choose to stay as the plan for people staying is camping style! This includes sleeping setup (sleeping bag, sleeping mat or air mattress, pillow, etc.) If you’re bringing a boat, the option is there to sleep in there of course. Please let me know if you don’t have a tent or items mentioned above so we can make sure you are taken care of. We ask if you are bringing these items to let us pick them up from you 2-3 weeks before the wedding so we can have it up there for you! Please package up in tote with name clearly labeled. I know this seems overwhelming but if you plan to stay the night or weekend think camping with food provided! These items brought up will be well cared for and stored properly. Trying to minimize what has to be brought up the day before/day of wedding to maximize boat space for guests!

Question

What will I eat?

Answer

Being that it is so far up river and away from the road system I can understand the concern here. We will provide food Friday, Saturday & Sunday. If there is anything specific you need to have please let me know prior so we can plan ahead of time! We want our guests to enjoy themselves as much as possible even while being out in the woods at our home away from home! We’ll have a couple BBQ grills up there to cook on throughout the days if anyone needs to use them. You’re welcome to bring a cooler with your own items of course, especially if driving your own boat. If you’re catching a ride up please try and minimize your load coming up with you to maximize space and weight in the boats!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

The sooner the better of course! Especially being that the transportation to our wedding is by boat or small plane. Please RSVP no later than June 1st if possible!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dressed up casual is encouraged. We understand it’s July, it might be pouring or it might be 80 degrees! Dress for the weather but something a little nicer than your normal day to day wear. Does not have to be anything fancy or feel free to dress up as much as you’d like! People of the Wedding party colors are grays, reds and blues. Wedding will have a videographer for a good portion of the day!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Kids are very welcome! We plan to have a kids area for them near the playset. If they do come with you please know you are responsible for them and to please keep them away from the river. Life jackets near the River are a requirement please! Boundaries will be clearly roped. Overall we do not want kids near the River unless arriving or loading up into a boat to leave. Safety is our #1 concern on this. PETS: Please leave your dogs at home! We may have our own but the last thing I want to worry about on our big day is a dog fight, dog going missing, or something happening dog related. Please please please respect this rule unless we have talked about this. There will just be too many people, boats, planes, fireworks and myself being a dog lover would feel terrible if something happened to them on this day.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let us know ahead of time. Reach out to me and we can discuss this further!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Vehicle Parking will be out of Deshka Landing in Willow. When arriving here you will need to get a ticket upon entering. If not launching a boat take this ticket inside the office before loading up to get it validated for parking. This part is important or you will be charged the boat launch fee of $40! The daily parking rate is $10 per day. The responsibility for parking is on you, we’ve got the boat fuel covered. If parking your own boat please be respectful of where you are parking! There will be a lot of nice boats in a small area. Do not be that guy letting your boat knock into the ones around it!

Question

What to do upon arrival at Deshka landing if you need a boat ride? How do I get back in the evening?

Answer

Upon arrival: When you’ve parked and unloaded walk down the boat launch to get loaded up. It is a 1 hour 30 min boat ride one way so please use restroom beforehand! Boat scheduled times of pickup to come for guests needing transportation up River. We have made arrangements with friends and family who have boats to help shuttle everyone to and from the wedding. Timeliness matters to make ensure everyone makes the ceremony! Please be respectful of the time chosen for morning of boat ride. I will reach out and see if you need a ride, If you haven’t heard from me and don’t have a ride secured please reach out !!! Time slots will be for day of wedding. There will be a few trips up in the morning and 1 trip back in the evening with 1-2 boats going back to the landing. They will be leaving the lodge no later than 6pm to ensure they can make it back up river before it’s to late in the evening!

Question

What time do you need to be at Deshka landing?

Answer

Office opens at 9am for ticket validation. Please know you need to validate your ticket to avoid the boat launch $40 fee. This might take some time if there is a high volume of guests so please plan accordingly. I also plan to give the landing a heads up about the increase of people rolling through this day. You are able to enter the landing before 9am if you are early and just want to park and wait. BOATS LOAD BETWEEN 9am-10am BOATS LEAVE AT 10am to head to lodge Questions please text Brooke 1-907-521-0424

Question

What to expect upon arrival at lodge?

Answer

Ceremony starts at 2pm. With boat shuttling, guests will be early to accommodate our unique shuttle situation. Please use this time to explore this special place. Grab a snack, refreshment, and enjoy the outdoors.
