We want everyone to be as safe and comfortable as they can at our wedding. We will have hand sanitizer throughout the venue and encourage anyone to wear a mask if they’d like. We will do our best to skip rows throughout the ceremony for social distancing. Please be respectful of social distancing with all guests. To keep all of our guests safe we ask that you please socially distance after the holidays before attending the wedding and consider getting tested beforehand. The Bride and Groom would like to ensure they can go on their Honeymoon. :) We are so appreciative of everyone that is coming to support us and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
I had been single and out in the dating pool for almost a year before I met Brandon. I remember seeing his profile when we matched on Bumble (a dating app) and thinking I hadn't seen a guy more my type before. So handsome! I saw he was a fellow Longhorn and my first message to him intended to be "Hook 'Em Horns", but instead was sent as "Hook 'Me Horns". I guess I did end up being hooked by him! Even though Brandon made me wait some time before he asked me out, we finally set a date - Wednesday, June 20th. That day there was a heavy storm that almost caused flooding, but Brandon told me hell or high water his truck could manage and we were going out. He took me to Harold's in the Heights for a nice dinner and because of the storm we practically had the restaurant to ourselves. We bonded over so many similar dreams, interests and goals, as well as,our love of craft beer which led us to continue our date at the bar downstairs until they closed and practically kicked us out. Our first date lasted probably around 8 hours, as we could not stop talking or say goodnight. (We developed this habit for about the next 5 dates or so.) Most would think it insane to be discussing love, living together and getting married on a canyon side one night after 3 months of dating... I knew it wasn't. Here we are over two years later and those discussions are coming true. We are engaged and planning the celebration to mark our lives joining and I couldn't be happier!
I had recently graduated pharmacy school and was a pharmacist in the Houston area at Randalls Pharmacy in 2018. I had myself a nice little apartment in the galleria area of Houston and I was on the lookout for my special person that I could spend the rest of my life with. It all began when I saw the message come across my phone on Bumble (the dating app), " Hook 'me Horns" ! This was the first message Sara Beth sent to me in reference to our shared passion for all things University of Texas at Austin related. Even though it had a typo in it (meant to say Hook 'em Horns), it is now our tagline. I am forever grateful Sara Beth decided to send me that message that day. I had an inkling I was talking to someone special and my sisters can vouch for that when I talked to them about Sara Beth. I may have even gone as far as calling her "the one" in my conversations with them before we had even met. Forward to June 20th, 2018, we set a date at Harold's in the Heights and we had one of those once in a lifetime first dates. This was a last first date you dream of where the conversation is flowing, drinks were going down smooth, and we could not take our eyes off of each other all night- planning our future and every vacation we would take. Hours later, with the taproom closing, our first date ended with a kiss goodnight. You hear the saying all the time "its like we knew each other our whole lives", but the way we so naturally connected and continued to practically every day after June 20th, 2018 let me know that I had met someone truly special. I knew from that day forward I needed to do everything in my power to make sure this woman knew she was the most beautiful person/soul I had ever met. Here we are today planning our wedding and I am writing my story on how we met. I am truly blessed.
Red River Rivalry, the famous OU TX football game. Sara had begged Brandon to use a vacation day to get off work so he could attend her cousins watch party. Since he needed the days for an upcoming trip, he denied her requests. That evening Sara was supposed to have a girl's night with her two best friends, but after Brandon left for work, Vanessa surprised Sara with the early arrival of her other friend, Corie. They yelled SURPRISE! and let her know they wanted to take her to a fancy brunch to celebrate her work accomplishments. She awkwardly reminded them she already had plans for the biggest game of the year, one she absolutely could not miss. They insisted she would not be late so she caved and asked her cousin to record the first quarter. The girls wanted to get "super glam and dress up". They insisted Sara wear one dress that seemed way too fancy for brunch. Much to Sara's annoyance, she finally gave in. She felt it odd, but knew she saw Brandon leave for work, and you can't just leave a pharmacy! As they drove to the restaurant Sara felt more anxious and nervous because she felt something was off. She was not paying attention to where they were when Corie drove into an empty parking lot and right to the front of a building. Out of the corner of Sara's eye she saw "River Oaks Garden Club" across the building and it all came washing over her. She could not believe somehow her sweetheart was not at work and behind those doors somewhere. The girls helped Sara out of the car and told her to walk through the door ahead alone. When she entered there was a long hallway that ended with open doors to a beautiful outdoor garden. There Brandon was standing in a suit with flowers and their song playing in the air... The rest is history.
