Chase and Emily met in Mequon, WI while Chase was pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Justice and Public Policy and Emily was pursuing her Master of Social Work. Shortly after the academic year ended in 2021, Chase asked Emily out on a date...to which she said no. After this, Chase was back in Texas and Emily stayed in Mequon. That summer, Emily and Chase viewed the lives of each other on social media wondering what it might be like if Emily hadn't shied away. Well, it wasn't long until Chase's football season and the academic year started back up. Chase and Emily were back in the same city and the busyness of the next few months had begun. They passed each other by in the hallways, exchanging a sweet "hello" and smile with each glance. Soon enough, the glances became moments that grew a connection neither of them, even Emily, could deny. Nights of "get to know you" ping pong and billiards soon became Chase asking, once more, if he could take Emily on an official date. This time, she said yes! Chase asked Emily to be his girlfriend on November 11, 2021 and from there, the rest is history.
Chase had played his final game of football that same day, a sport he absolutely adores. Emily had convinced herself the proposal wasn’t coming that day with everything going on (between moving him back to TX and traveling to IL for the game). However, Chase had something different in mind. After getting back to WI and packing up a bit more of the apartment, Chase and Emily, along with Chase’s parents, Emily’s parents, and Emily’s little sister, went to where they shared their first kiss in Port Washington, WI as it was also their two year anniversary. As Emily was pointing out the lighthouse off in the distance, Chase was behind her on one knee. Emily turned around and all she could muster up to say was “Shut up!” as he asked her to marry him. She followed up with a very sure “Of course I will marry you!” and they shared yet another kiss at that spot that meant so much to them.
