Belle Isle is a public park on an island on the east side of Detroit. We absolutely love driving around the island, picnicking on the grass overlooking the city, and walking around the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, a stunning indoor botanical garden on the island.
The shops surrounding West Canfield Street and Cass Ave are perfect for browsing. Spend the afternoon bopping shop to shop around this sweet stretch of Midtown Detroit; Some of our favorites? Nora, Hugh, City Bird, Nest, Filson, Will Leather Goods, the original Shinola, and Third Man Records.
If museums are your thing, you've gotta check out the DIA. It's beautiful inside and out, with over 100 galleries with artists from around the world. If you're coming in Friday, the museum is open until 10pm, with live music and special workshops.
