Once upon a time, Jackie and her girlfriend were getting together to hang on a football Sunday. She did not feel like going out to eat to watch the Steelers game, but her girlfriend encouraged the thought and they said to each other, “welp, maybe we’ll meet our husbands” … and pizza and beer wasn’t a bad idea ….no lost opportunity! Jackie threw on her Carhartt beanie and Steelers jersey, and they were off to eat at Renshaw (local dive bar) to fill each other in on the latest and greatest in their lives. At approximately a half of a beer in, a random Brad-Pitt-looking-man walked up to them and proceeded to look at Jackie directly in the eyes. Out of nowhere the dude goes: “I’m going to buy you a drink and marry you” …. talk about being bold! Jackie then looked at her girlfriend, rolled her eyes, and told the dude to get lost. She had enough with the cheesy pickup lines but...he was wearing his hat backwards, looked handsome, and seemed kind of intriguing... so the thought of letting him buy her a drink did cross her mind. As the night proceeded, the group of beer league hockey boys that the random dude was with, were all sitting together in the back corner of the bar…and by no surprise, some of the single dudes sitting there were also very interested in Jackie’s girlfriend. Her girlfriend needed to use the restroom, and as chance would have it, she had to walk past the boys' table to get there...you better believe she got hit on so as any good friend would, Jackie got up from their original bar seats and headed to the table to “save her.” Jackie and her girlfriend started talking to all the hockey bros and it turned out they weren’t so bad after all. They were actually all pretty funny, entertaining in the least. The infamous "I’m going to buy you a drink and marry you" guy got Jackie’s number and said he wanted to take her out soon. They ended up texting every day realizing they had far more in common than their mutual love for football and dive bars and went out for a nice dinner later in the week. Long story short, the date went great and having both come out of some tough relationships, they knew this was it. As the cliché goes…the rest is history! As life played out, that same guy got a house with Jackie and started the happiest life they knew to date including adopting two goldendoodles, Paxton and Harley (who very quickly became the loves of their life). On May 28, 2022, Taylor took Jackie out on the family boat to "clean it" for the summer. After a few hours of hanging, cleaning, and jamming to music, Taylor approached Jackie on the side of the boat and asked her to marry him. This yes was the easiest decision of her life! Thank GOD he didn't drop the ring in the lake. :) Ever since Jack and Tay met, they’ve made a promise to each other to spend everyday laughing and living life to the fullest...and it's been nothing short of that. *Moral of the story*…if you want something, go and get it!
