A Latin Mass (also called the Traditional Latin Mass or Tridentine Mass) is the form of the Catholic Mass used for centuries and celebrated entirely in Latin. It follows ancient rubrics and emphasizes reverence, silence, and tradition. It's how Catholic weddings were celebrated for generations before the 1960s.
Absolutely! All are welcome. We’re so happy to have you witness our Sacrament of Matrimony. You don’t need to participate in every part—just your presence and prayers mean the world to us.
Yes, most of the ceremony will be in Latin, including the prayers and readings. However, wedding programs will be provided with translations and explanations to help you follow along.
If you're not Catholic or unfamiliar with the Latin Mass, you're warmly invited to simply observe and pray with us—there’s no pressure to kneel, respond, or receive Communion. For those who are Catholic and wish to receive Holy Communion, please note that in the Latin Mass it is received kneeling and on the tongue. As always, only practicing Catholics in a state of grace (having recently gone to Confession and free from mortal sin) should receive the Eucharist. Confession will be available before the Mass begins for those who would like to go.
The Nuptial Mass typically lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
We kindly ask guests to dress modestly and respectfully, as the setting is sacred. For women, dresses or skirts that cover the shoulders and knees are traditional; some women choose to wear a veil or head covering, but this is not required. For men, a suit or dress shirt and tie is appropriate.
The church typically requests that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, out of reverence for the sacred liturgy. A professional photographer will be capturing everything, so you can just be present and enjoy.
The Latin Mass is the older form of the Roman Rite, used before the changes made after Vatican II. It is celebrated facing the altar, with more silence and structure, and uses Gregorian chant and traditional vestments. It may feel unfamiliar, but it is rich with meaning and beauty.

Rather than registering for specific items, we’ve set up a cash fund to help us furnish and build our first home together. We’re deeply grateful for any support, but even more so for your prayers and presence as we begin our vocation of marriage!
