Who would have thought Bumble would bring these love birds together? Taylor was a little busy during harvest time back in Forrest to answer Cody's message, so he extended the match. When Taylor got the notification, she thought maybe she'd give him a shot. But how does one explain that they're driving an ambulance to take food to their parents in the field? Cody must have thought it was okay, because after several attempts of getting together, there they finally were saying goodbye after their first date, on the corner of 3rd and Court in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, with an awkward hug. The second date resulted in a 5-hour car ride with no air conditioning, and the third date ended with a Chicago Cubs World Series Championship. Since the day Cody and Taylor have met, it's easy to see that it's been an adventure, & love is meant to be an adventure.
Taylor was on a clinical rotation in Denver, CO for (3) months and came back to visit for a weekend in October. The one thing she wanted to do during her time in the Midwest was to go to the Apple Orchard/Pumpkin Patch. Cody gave in, and so his parents, sister, and brother-in-law joined them for the day. When attempting to conquer the corn maze, Taylor, Cassie, and Michael started booking it to the end. Cody had to grab Taylor's arm to slow them down, and when she turned, there Cody was on one knee. Cody knew he wanted to ask Taylor a week after she was gone. He found a ring (which he picked out himself) and took off to Illinois to ask Taylor's dad for permission. For anyone who doesn't know how harvest goes at the Crane residence, it can be left as Cody had a tough time finding Brad. With help from nearly everyone in the family, Cody finally got to Brad at the grain elevator. Brad responded, "Of course, but are you sure you want to join this family?" Something about this relationship and corn fields, I tell you what.
