One of Madeline's favorite things to do is antiquing! These are some of the best in Wharton.
Matagorda Bay
Matagorda Beach is just 45 minutes from Wharton and so beautiful! Madeline grew up visiting her family bay house in Schicke Point, right off the Matagorda Bay. The first time Spencer saw the beach was on the Texas Gulf Coast!
Houston Zoo
Just an hour northeast from Wharton!
Space Center Houston
Such a fun and educational place to bring the kids!
Galveston
This town is a little further away, so it's perfect for those who are planning to be in town a little longer. Galveston is full of fun for the whole family! It will take about 1 hour and 50 minutes from Wharton to Galveston.
Kemah Boardwalk
Just 40 minutes north of Galveston is the Kemah Boardwalk. Super fun for kids, lots of cool restaurants and amusement park rides.
Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston
They say everything's bigger in Texas... this is a 26 ACRE WATERPARK! I've been here multiple times and can say it is hands down my favorite waterpark ever. Worth the 1 hour and 45 minute drive to Galveston Island from Wharton. There's something for every age!
Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort New Braunfels
If you want to take your vacation to the Texas Hill Country, the location in New Braunfels is a great option because they have an attached resort you can stay at! The Hill Country has endless things to do... you won't be bored. There's something for every age! This location is about 2 hours and 20 minutes from Wharton.
New Braunfels & Gruene
This is one of the most special Hill Country towns. I attached the link of things to do in New Braunfels, it's full of history, good food, shopping, and activities! Including the Gruene Historic District.
San Antonio
Another great Hill Country town!! Such a fun place to visit, home of the Alamo and San Antonio Riverwalk. Lots of good food and even better sites.
