Milwaukee's most popular beach for sunbathing, swimming and volleyball. You can also launch paddle boards from here. Street parking and the lot across the street are free, but can fill up on busy days.

Atwater Park and Beach

For those looking for a quieter beach experience, head over to beautiful Atwater Beach. The beach is accessed via a set of stairs or a long winding path and is a great place for hanging out, swimming, and paddle boarding. On a clear day, you might be able to see the remnants of the 1905 Appomattox shipwreck!

Estabrook Beer Garden

Our favorite beer garden! Family and dog friendly, its a great place to spend an afternoon or evening. Carry-in food is welcome, or you can enjoy their brats or giant pretzels (our fave!). Polka bands are often playing and the vibe is always happy here!

For anyone looking to get out on the water, kayaking the Milwaukee River is a great option!

Walking distance from downtown Milwaukee hotels, the art museum is an iconic part of the lakefront landscape. Be sure to check out the museum’s signature wings, which unfold and fold twice daily.
