Question

What does 30A stand for or mean?

Answer

30A is the shorthand for County Road 30A that parallels the ocean along Florida's gulf coast. It starts just West of Panama City Beach and heads towards Destin. We tend to spend most of our time in the area from Inlet Beach to Grayton Beach.

Question

Why 30A?

Answer

Craig started visiting the area about 10 years ago when his good friend Michaelanne was getting married there and moving there full time with her husband Matt. He fell in love with everything about it and couldn't wait to show it to Damon once they started dating. Damon quickly fell in love with the area too and after several trips we ended up purchasing a condo in the Prominence neighborhood. A couple years later we purchased another condo down the road in the Waterhouse building, where Craig is now the HOA President and where we've just opened our new business - Waterhouse Provisions + Bottleshop. A wine, beer, snacks, and beach essentials store. 30A is our 2nd home and we wanted to share a place that is so special to us, with the people who are so special to us.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

You won't find many hotels along 30A. There are SO many great rental options that include houses, condos, and more. Check out the travel page for a bunch of options and ideas. We recommend finding a place that's anywhere in between Inlet Beach and Grayton Beach. Any further West will still work, but won't be as close to the action. If you REALLY want to find a hotel, you can find something in Panama City Beach, but be prepared for at least a 30 minute drive to the wedding and 30A area.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes and no! We don't want this to be a stuffy formal wedding. You're at the beach for crying out loud! Wear something comfortable and breezy. Wear flip flops, sandals, or comfy beach shoes. You'll be on the sand for the ceremony and then around a pool for the reception. Also, don't forget to bring a bathing suit! The wedding is taking place around a heated outdoor lazy river pool. You never know who might end up jumping in before the night is over!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love your kids, we're keeping this day for the adults only. There are several reputable babysitting or nanny services that we can help you find if you need someone to stay at home to watch the kiddos while you're kicking it up.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! The Watersound Beach Club has a very large parking lot once you go inside the entry gates.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There aren't any shuttles to or from the ceremony. Driving, biking, or walking is recommended. There are VERY limited Ubers / Lyfts in this area so don't count on one being available. Since everyone is scattered around the area, it would be too hard to have shuttles to pick up and drop off everyone.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please make sure you're at the Watersound Beach Club by 4pm. There's a little bit of a walk from the entrance to the ceremony and we wouldn't want you to miss anything!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by June 1st so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Where do I go to the beach?

Answer

Depending on where you stay, you may have deeded beach access for your neighborhood or community. There are also public beach access points scattered along 30A. Some communities have private access that's only accessible for people staying there. Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach are two examples of that. You can walk around the communities - shop - eat - etc., but you won't be able to go on the beach there without a code to their gates. Definitely check ahead of time with your rental choice to check and see what kind of beach access it provides.

Question

Is the wedding and ceremony outdoors?

Answer

Yes, both the ceremony and reception are fully outdoors and spread out.

Question

Should I bring a bathing suit to reception?

Answer

Yes, the pool and lazy river will be open after dinner is served at the reception.

Question

What are Covid protocols for the wedding?

Answer

We prefer that all guests be vaccinated. Masks are welcomed for everyone and are required for those guests that are unvaccinated. If you are experiencing any symptoms we prefer that you not join us unless you have a negative Covid test result. This is the honor system and these requirements will not be enforced at the entrance.

Question

What are Florida's overall Covid protcols?

Answer

In most establishments, masks are not required for those vaccinated but are required for those unvaccinated. This area of Florida is very spread out and has a lower population base so it is easy to stay out of crowded areas. Most restaurants have outdoor seating options as well.

Question

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

Yes, rental cars are strongly recommended as Ubers/Lyfts are limited, and there are no taxis in this area. It is recommended you reserve your car asap to ensure they have inventory.
