OVY Camp is a non-profit summer camp opportunity for youth entering 5th – 9th grades. In the spring and fall, the event space is rented out, helping to raise funds and make the camp more affordable.
Friday Oct 20th at 4pm. Please see the bulletin board at the cabin village if you will be staying with us onsite.
There are 12 cabins on site, with 8 single beds in each. On your RSVP you can request who/how many people you would like to share a cabin with. The beds have mattresses but guests will need to bring their own bedding. The cabins do not come with electricity, however, each has solar-powered lighting. The communal bathrooms are just outside the cabins and have electricity there. There are showers located at the pool area, and restrooms are located in the cabin areas. Please note that similar to the rest of the summer camp, these are not glamorous. Be sure to pack a towel and a pair of flip flops might not be a bad idea either. The dress will be "forest formal" (i.e., cocktail attire). Look your best, with the forest in mind. The weather can be temperamental this time of year. Make sure to bring layers in case of cooler weather. Overall the grounds are mixture of grass, gravel, and forest trails. Please wear appropriate footwear. There will be plenty of room for you to store a bag/extra layers so don’t worry about packing some extra items!
Yes, there will be a charging station set-up by both the main hall and next to the cabin village. We will have a full getting-ready area on the covered patio and within the Grizzly Cabin including full-length mirrors, table mirrors, extension cords, etc. so you can still glam up!
For guests who will be flying, SFO and SJC are almost equally distanced from the location (~45 minute drive). There is parking on-site if you are planning to rent a car.
Yes! There will be parking on site for anyone staying for the weekend or just coming to the Saturday events. Parking is available near the cabins for anyone who need to unload their gear for the weekend. We suggest carpooling when possible.
Shuttle buses from the Aristocrat Hotel in Half Moon Bay to OVY Camp (and returning) will be available on Saturday only. -Shuttle from Aristocrat Hotel to OVY will leave at 2:15pm. -Return shuttles from OVY to Aristocrat Hotel will be at 10pm and 11:15pm.
There is Uber/Lyft service in the area, but it’s pretty limited so we wouldn’t bank on this. There will be shuttle transportation on the wedding day picking up and dropping off at the Aristocrat Hotel for those staying at the hotel or looking for a better place to call an Uber/Lyft.
There is Wifi at OVY camp located at the main hall. We will provide information about that at the welcome table upon arrival. Overall cellphone reception can be spotty on the property. Verizon and AT&T seem to have the best cell reception.
We love your little ones and you are welcome to bring them to our special weekend. Please note we will not have an onsite babysitter, so plan accordingly for their special snacks, supervision, and overall needs. Make sure to specify how many children you will be bringing within your RSVP and their ages.
As much as we love your furry friends OVY camp is not a pet friendly venue. Please keep your pups at home!
In addition to having cocktail appetizers and dinner at the wedding, we will have a casual welcome dinner on Friday evening. There will also be coffee, tea and breakfast bites at the lodge on Saturday/Sunday morning for those staying on-site. For any meals outside of these, there are wonderful restaurants and markets in downtown Half Moon Bay - located about 20 minutes (up to 45 min with traffic) from OVY Camp - and the surrounding areas. For those staying on-site you are welcome to bring a cooler for snacks or beverages. Please note only beer & wine can be self-served at OVY Camp (but don't worry, we will have hard liquor at the wedding!).
