Our Story

On July 22nd, 2022, Matthew and I both decided to attend a Luke Bryan concert at PNC in Charlotte. Neither of us knew it yet, but that night would change our lives forever. By pure coincidence, we had a mutual friend there — Brittani — someone both of us had known for years, yet somehow our paths had never crossed. As we waited for Luke Bryan to take the stage, Matthew and his friends made their way over to the lawn section where I was with Brittani to say hello. He greeted us briefly and headed off to another part of the venue. The moment he left, I turned to Brittani and told her to text him and ask him to come back. Luckily, he did — and from that moment on, we danced the night away, completely unaware we were dancing with the love of our lives. At the time, Matthew was attending UNC Charlotte, and I was a student at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Over the next few months, we made trips to visit each other at our schools, went on dates, and slowly built something incredibly special. On October 13th, 2022, we officially became a couple. The following year was filled with milestones. I graduated from nursing school in December 2022 and began my nursing career in February 2023, with Matthew by my side every step of the way. His unwavering support meant the world to me. In May 2024, Matthew graduated from college while simultaneously completing the Charlotte Fire Department Academy, which he officially finished in August 2024. Once we both settled into our careers, we made the exciting decision to move in together in Charlotte that September. While many warned us that living together could bring its challenges, for us, it felt natural and easy. Our love only grew stronger, and it was a joy to finally share the same city and the same home. Over time, we became part of each other’s families, going on vacations together and creating lasting memories. In 2025, we expanded our little family by adopting two cats, Zoey and Johnny — something I never expected but absolutely adore (who would've thought I’d become a cat mom?). Then, on June 9th, 2025, Matthew proposed. It was the easiest, most heartfelt "yes" of my life. Now, as we prepare to say “I do,” we are beyond grateful for the incredible friends and family who have supported us throughout our journey. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you on the best day of our lives!
