Tulum Ruins
This Mayan City was a seaport, trading mainly turquoise and jade. The main castle, Castillo still stands and is a must see while in Tulum. We recommend going early as there is very little shade and can get crowded. Tours are not necessary but are available.
Cenote
Riveria Maya is filled with cenotes! Many offer swimming, snorkeling, cliff jumping and diving. Click view to see a list of recommended cenotes near Tulum! The closest (about a 10 minute drive) and most popular is called Gran Cenote. We've also heard great things about Dos Ojos.
Ik Lab
This is an amazing art installation Tulum + boutique. You'll most likely need to catch a quick taxi ride (5 minutes) or grab a bike but if you like beautiful architect this is worth the trip - it's stunning..and has central a/c - yay! Open daily 10AM - 12AM. To view the dome you'll need to book your visit ahead of time & can do so on their website.
Xel-Ha
Xel-Ha is an outdoor amusement park that has activities for everyone! From snorkeling to zip lining to cliff jumping. They offer tickets that include transportation + day passes. It's a great option for those making a vacation out of their trip to Tulum!
Akumal Bay - Beach & Wellness Resort
This is the place to be if you want to go snorkeling with sea turtles. It's a resort but allows guest access. You'll be surrounded by shops, restaurants and the beach!
Sanara Tulum Hotel + The Real Coconut
Senara is a health & wellness focused boutique hotel. They offer holistic spa treatments and have a beautiful yoga studio overlooking the beach. We almost booked the studio for our ceremony! Stop by The Real Coconut for a refreshing snack on your way in! It's a GF, dairy free, refined sugar free health food heaven. The food is unreal.
Coqui Coqui
Treat yoself! This is a sweet little spa with 4 locations throughout Tulum. Reservations are recommended.
Posada Margherita
Yes we know, Italian food in Mexico? But this place is amazing. And it's on the beach. Last time we were in Tulum we went here twice because BURRATA.
Matcha Mama
A small beach shack decked out with swings, healthy snacks and of course, matcha! That's our Steven on the swing in the pic :)
Hartwood
Hartwood is the most famous restaurant in Tulum serving up local Mexican Cuisine. Reservations are required to dine here -- you can either show up around 2PM to ask for a table that night or email them prior to your arrival, email reservations are accepted 30 days out.
