This Mayan City was a seaport, trading mainly turquoise and jade. The main castle, Castillo still stands and is a must see while in Tulum. We recommend going early as there is very little shade and can get crowded. Tours are not necessary but are available.

Riveria Maya is filled with cenotes! Many offer swimming, snorkeling, cliff jumping and diving. Click view to see a list of recommended cenotes near Tulum! The closest (about a 10 minute drive) and most popular is called Gran Cenote. We've also heard great things about Dos Ojos.

This is an amazing art installation Tulum + boutique. You'll most likely need to catch a quick taxi ride (5 minutes) or grab a bike but if you like beautiful architect this is worth the trip - it's stunning..and has central a/c - yay! Open daily 10AM - 12AM. To view the dome you'll need to book your visit ahead of time & can do so on their website.

Xel-Ha is an outdoor amusement park that has activities for everyone! From snorkeling to zip lining to cliff jumping. They offer tickets that include transportation + day passes. It's a great option for those making a vacation out of their trip to Tulum!

This is the place to be if you want to go snorkeling with sea turtles. It's a resort but allows guest access. You'll be surrounded by shops, restaurants and the beach!
