Things To Do

We're so excited that you're visiting one of our favorite places in the world! Below are some local recommendations for food, drinks, and fun by the coast.

Saltwater Farm Vineyard

349 Elm Street, Stonington, CT 06378

Delicious local wines in a beautiful setting. The winery building is a restored World War II-era airplane hangar.

The Velvet Mill

22 Bayview Avenue, Stonington, CT 06378

A former factory that's been repurposed to house art studios, vintage stores, a brewery, restaurants, and more.

Jonathan Edwards Winery

74 Chester Maine Road, North Stonington, CT 06359

Another great winery located on a gorgeous historic farm.

Red 36

2 Washington Street, Mystic, CT 06355

A great bar and restaurant right on the waterfront in Mystic, with a huge outdoor deck.

Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream

2 West Main Street, Mystic, CT 06355

The best icecream in Mystic and a must-stop on a hot summer day.

Mystic Pizza

56 West Main Street, Mystic, CT 06355

The place that inspired the movie! The decor is nostalgic and the pizza's pretty darn good.

Oyster Club

13 Water Street, Mystic, CT 06355

One of the top restaurants in the area, with fabulous food and a "treehouse" roof deck bar overlooking Mystic.

Mystic Seaport Museum

75 Greenmanville Avenue, Mystic, CT 06355

The largest maritime museum in the US, this mostly-outdoor museum has everything from a recreated fishing village to historic boats under restoration that you can tour.

Abbott's Lobster In the Rough

117 Pearl Street, Noank, CT 06340

A great local seafood shack, Abbott's has the best lobster rolls (both hot and cold) and gorgeous water views.

Carson's Store

43 Main Street, Noank, CT 06340

A classic diner in an adorable tiny coastal town that's great for breakfast or a scoop of icecream.

Beer’d Brewing Co. - The Silo

225 Leonard Drive, Groton, CT 06340

This brewery shares a building with a local cheesemaker (the Mystic Cheese Company) so you can enjoy local brews and snacks.

Eastern Point Beach

1 Beach Pond Road, Groton, CT 06340

A lovely and family-friendly public beach in the area.

On The Waterfront Restaurant

250 Pequot Avenue, New London, CT 06320

One of our favorite restaurants in the area for fresh, local seafood. Fun fact: this is the very first restaurant we visited on our first trip to coastal CT; who would have known we'd end up in a house just one block away!

Sightseeing Ferry Rides

New London, CT

There are several different narrated ferry rides that go up and down the coastline. A great way to learn about local history and see the beautiful coast!

Ocean Beach Park

98 Neptune Avenue, New London, CT 06320

One of the largest beaches in the area, complete with a boardwalk, rides and concessions. A must-visit if you want to catch some rays while you're visiting!
