On the night of TSU's annual John Merritt Classic, we met for the first time... Dillon's POV: I saw Whitney from across the stadium and her beauty captivated me and forced me to move. I approached her with no game plan in mind. She was talking to one of our mutual friends, so I seized the opportunity to stand next to her and be formally introduced. Although I didn't get her number, I quickly realized that I needed to know everything about her... Whitney's POV: I saw Dillon from across the stadium. I remember thinking he was very attractive, but didn't think much of it since we didn't know each other. Next thing I know, him and his friends were approaching my friends and I immediately got nervous. We were introduced and I apprehensively waived 'hello' not thinking much would come out of our meeting... ...and the rest is history <3

What I thought was an innocent meet up with my future mother-in-law to take some casual pregnancy photos ended up being a magical night. We drove to Downtown Dallas and arrived at the Omni Hotel. After believing Dillon was running in to inquire about parking arrangements, I walked in to soon realize this was the moment. He got down on one knee and asked me to do forever with him in front of our family and friends via Zoom. I said YES! and we started our engagement journey!
