It was Memorial Day weekend during Covid. Josh worked at a hospital and had not seen the light of day in months. Courtnie was heading up to Lake Texoma to celebrate the holiday weekend at a lake house with her closest friends. Michael, a mutual friend of both Courtnie and Josh, extended an invite to Josh since he knew he could use some sun. Once the two met, the rest was history! After a weekend of hanging out at the lake, Josh had the confidence to ask Courtnie on a date! The next weekend Josh took Courtnie on their first date to Mi Cocina for Mambo Taxis and fajitas and they have been inseparable ever since!
After months of planning Josh was ready to pop the question! He had booked tickets to the Dallas Arboretum for the Twelve Days of Christmas exhibit, which Courtnie and Josh visited on a yearly basis. He figured since this was a tradition, Courtnie would not be suspicious and it would also be a special place to propose. When they arrived, they walked through the first four days of Christmas exhibits. It was a cold night in December and Courtnie was confused on why Josh's palms were so sweaty and why he was acting so nervous. When the two arrived at the fifth exhibit-the Five Golden Rings, Josh quickly got down on one knee and asked Courtnie to marry him! Courtnie was shocked and thrilled to say YES! After the proposal, Josh took Courtnie to Waterproof, the rooftop bar at the Statler Hotel, in Dallas. When they arrived all of their family and friends were there waiting to celebrate with them! It was such a special night and the perfect proposal. Now, we can not wait to celebrate this new chapter in our lives with all of our favorite people!
