How it all Started

April 2021 feels like a lifetime ago now. Justin was away in Chicago, and Courtney was just passing through Clarksville to visit a friend when he showed Courtney Justin’s truck and a picture of Justin. Courtney casually thought, he’s cute. Courtney had no idea that one small, ordinary moment would quietly change the entire course of our lives. From that point on, we talked every single day. What started as simple conversations turned into late nights, laughter, vulnerability, and countless hours on FaceTime, learning each other from miles away and falling in love without even realizing it was happening. Little did we know that two people from Oregon, who both moved more than 2,000 miles away from everything familiar, would somehow cross paths and fall in love in a place neither of us originally called home. Distance became a part of our story early on. Summers meant Courtney heading back home to Oregon while Justin stayed in Tennessee and then came deployment. Those seasons taught us how to love intentionally, how to show up through different time zones, missed holidays, and long days that ended with a screen instead of a hug. It wasn’t always easy, but we chose each other every single day. With every challenge, our bond grew stronger, deeper, and more rooted in trust. While distance wasn’t our whole relationship, it played a meaningful role in shaping us. During Justin’s deployment, Courtney was able to take a four-day weekend and fly to Budapest to spend a few precious days together. Despite the miles between us, we always found our way back to each other. Justin returned in November of 2023, and in April of 2024, everything finally aligned. Courtney moved to Clarksville for her job, and for the first time, we were building daily life together—no countdowns, no goodbyes, just us. Over the last two years, we’ve lived with roommates, learned patience and compromise, and discovered what it truly means to build a home together. In March of 2025, we got a place of our own, and with it came a deeper sense of stability and gratitude for how far we’d come. On February 1st, Justin got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him—a moment that felt surreal, overwhelming, and absolutely perfect. Just weeks later, on February 27th, we bought a house together. Two life-changing “yeses” in one month, both built on years of love, sacrifice, and growth. Life has been moving fast, and so much is changing, but what matters most is that we are growing together. Through distance, uncertainty, and new beginnings, we’ve built something strong, intentional, and full of love. We’re so excited for what the future holds and incredibly grateful for the people who have supported us along the way. We’ve shared countless trips and adventures together. We cannot wait to continue traveling, exploring the world, and making memories side by side. We cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with each and every one of you. 🤍✨
