Please take a moment to get to know our wedding party. These individuals are very important to us and have positively influenced our lives. Without them, none of this would have been possible. On our wedding day please introduce yourself and get to know them the way that we do!

Courtney Hovey

Bride

Courtney is the fourth child of the Hovey family and was raised in Eaton Rapids. She graduated high school with William in 2010 and then began college at Lansing Community College. Courtney transferred to Michigan State University in the fall of 2012, graduating in May of 2015 with a Bachelor of Art in Interior Design. Following graduation, she moved to Metro Detroit to be with William and began her career as an Interior Designer. Courtney enjoys spending time at their new home in Harper Woods with William and their dear pets. She also enjoys CrossFit, camping, wine tasting, and family time.

William Hicks

Groom

William was raised in Eaton Rapids and Graduated from Eaton Rapids High school in 2010. He attended Grand Valley State University from 2010 - 2014. He Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety & Health Management. In the fall of 2014 he moved to metro Detroit and began his career as an Occupational Health & Safety professional. William enjoys spending his time with Courtney, Millie the Mutt and Bruce the black cat. William follows and supports the University of Michigan and Detroit athletics. He enjoys nature and the great outdoors. What Will enjoys the most is spending time with the Hicks family and newest family, the Hovey family.

Ashley Walterhouse

Matron of Honor

Ashley is the third child of the Hovey family and shares the 'middle child' spot with The Bride. Ashley and Courtney shared a room majority of their childhood, so naturally they grew closer once they were young adults. Ashley graduated Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Textile Merchandising and had the opportunity to design dance costumes for a company in Pennsylvania. She now owns a food + lifestyle blog and gets to bring all of her great treats to family gatherings. Ashley married her high school sweetheart in May 2015 and they now are the parents to their loving pup, Gilly Walterhouse.

Anthony Hicks

Best Man

Anthony is the eldest son and grandson of the Hicks family. He was raised in Eaton Rapids and graduated from Eaton Rapids High school in 2008. Anthony attended Grand Valley State University from 2008 - 2012 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. In the fall of 2014, Anthony married the lovely Rachel Hicks (Lalonde) and currently live in the metro Grand Rapids area. Anthony and Rachel recently expanded their family with their first borne daughter, Sawyer Hicks (the cutest flower girl). Anthony is great older brother and loving father. He enjoys following Athletics from the University of Michigan and Detroit, the great outdoors and spending time with his family.

Tori Hovey

Maid of Honor

Tori is the youngest girl and fifth child of the Hovey family. She is currently attending Saginaw Valley State University, pursing her Master's of Occupational Therapy. Tori loves spending time with her family, going camping in Canada, and taking a million photos of her cats. Once completed with school, she hopes to help kids with various needs to improve their cognitive, physical, sensory, and motor skills and enhance their wellbeing.

Eric Hicks

Eric is the youngest of the three Hicks boys. Eric was raised in Eaton Rapids and graduated from Eaton Rapids high school in 2014. Eric attended Central Michigan University from 2014 until 2018 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology. His major focus was Construction Management with a minor of focus in industrial technology. Eric enjoys spending his time with his lovely girlfriend Autumn, family and the great outdoors. He also follows the University of Michigan and Detroit Professional athletics like his brothers.

Lanie Hovey

Bridesmaid

Lanie is the oldest girl and second oldest child of the family. She graduated high school from Eaton Rapids in 2004 and attended Central Michigan University from 2004-2009. Most recently, she graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is currently a nurse at St Joseph Mercy of Ann Arbor. She is also getting married in October 2018 to Blake Allen. Lanie has been a big role model to all of her siblings and enjoys spending time with them.

Justin Hovey

Groomsman

Justin is the youngest child and youngest boy of the Hovey family. He is currently attending Eaton Rapids High School and will be graduating in the Spring of 2019. Justin enjoys playing soccer year round and watching The European Professional Football League. He enjoys spending time with family whenever they are home and is thankful for their close bond. Courtney and Will enjoy being able to support Justin in his sports and watch him grow over the years.

Courtney Cullum

Bridesmaid

Courtney (C2) is one of Courtney's (C1) oldest and closest friends. Their parents met at Killbear Provincial Park in Ontario in the 80s and camped in the same campground at the same time every year. Long story short, C2 was unconsciously named after C1! Despite the distance, the two girls and families grew to be very close with each other. Throughout their childhood they continued to camp together each year, attend the same summer outdoors camp in Ontario, and see each other every New Year holiday. Summer memories would not be the same without C2!

Bradley Cataline

Bradley is one of Williams oldest and most cherished friends. Bradley and William first met at Lockwood Elementary school in Eaton Rapids. Throughout their childhood they spent their time together in school and after school athletics. Bradley Graduated from Eaton Rapids High school in 2010 with William and Courtney. Bradley and William lived together for some time in metro Grand Rapids and metro Detroit. The friendship that Bradley has provided Courtney and William is priceless and will last a lifetime. Bradley Enjoys his time following College and Professional Athletics.

Madeline Rosemurgy

Courtney and Maddie met at Michigan State University in 2012 while working at the MSU Broad, a new contemporary art museum on campus. Maddie was the design + communications intern, while Courtney assisted the development department. They had the privilege of sharing a small office and quickly grew close. The two girls bonded over much-needed coffee runs, froyo dates, and Pandora station duels. Although they work in different cities, technology allows them to continue their friendship and conversations at work nearly every day. Maddie is so honored and excited to be part of the Hovey-Hicks crew!

JT Hicks

Jonathan Todd Hicks (JT) is one of William's closest cousins. JT's mother and William's mother are sisters (Carolle and Stacie Thompson). They both married a Hicks. Jt graduated from Marshall High school in 2012. Jt attended Lansing Community College and Kellogg Community College where he played collegiate baseball. Jt transferred to Dominican University (greater Chicago area). Jt continued his baseball career at Dominican and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor Degree in Business administration and management. Jt enjoys following Michigan State athletics and enjoys spending his time with his family.

Lisa Hovey

Mother of the Bride

Lisa Hovey is mother of all six children of the Hovey family. She graduated from Eaton Rapids High School in 1979. In September of 1980, Lisa married the love of her life and father to her children, Harold Hovey, Jr. Lisa attended Central Michigan University and transferred to Michigan State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Since then she has established her dream career owning her own dance studio, serving many students over the past 30 years. Lisa enjoys spending time with her children, camping in northern Ontario, and relaxing by the pool.

Stacie Hicks

Mother of the Groom

Stacie Hicks is Anthony, Eric and William's mother. Stacie graduated from Eaton Rapids High school in 1987. In October of 1988, Stacie married the love of her life and father to her children, Greg Hicks. Together, Greg and Stacie established a home in Eaton Rapids and raised three healthy boys. Stacie has an established career serving Michigan Students and Schools. As of New Years Eve, 2016, Stacie became a Grandmother (CiCi) to Sawyer Hicks (Anthony & Rachel Hicks). Stacie enjoys spoiling her children and grandchildren. Stacie also enjoys reading, wine tasting and spending time outdoors by the pool. Stacie also enjoys traveling with her husband, Greg.

Harold Hovey, Jr.

Father of the Bride

Harold Hovey Jr. is the father of all six children of the Hovey family. He graduated from Eaton Rapids High School in 1977. In September of 1980, Harold married the love of his life and mother to his children, Lisa. Together they have established a great home in Eaton Rapids. Harold graduated with an associate degree from Lansing Community College. For 32 years, he worked at the State of Michigan Department of Transportation. Harold retired from the State of Michigan in 2010 and now enjoys working part time at a small shop of Alro Steel. In his free time, he enjoys riding his Ducati Motorcycle, spending time with his family, camping in Ontario, and relaxing by the pool. He also is a supporter of Michigan State University and Detroit Sports athletics.

Gregory Hicks

Father of the Groom

Gregory Hicks is Anthony, Eric and William's father. Greg graduated from Eaton Rapids High school in 1982. In October of 1988, Greg married the love of his life and mother to his children, Stacie Hicks. Together, Stacie and Greg established a home in Eaton Rapids and raised three healthy boys. Greg has an established career as a United Auto Worker for General Motors. As of New years eve, 2016, Greg became a Grandfather (Gpa) to Sawyer Hicks (Anthony & Rachel Hicks). Greg enjoys spoiling his children and grandchildren. Greg also enjoys following Michigan Athletics and Detroit Athletics. Greg also enjoys traveling with his wife, Stacie.

Joshua Hovey

Joshua is the eldest son of the Hovey Family. He graduated high school from Eaton Rapids in 2001. Josh attended Lansing Community College and then transferred to Michigan State University, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. He is considered one of Lansing’s insider as he is very much involved in the community. He is currently VP of one of Michigan’s top PR firms, serves as President of the South Lansing Community Development Association and chairs the United way’s Young Leader Society Steering Committee. Josh has always been a great leader of the Hovey crew and supporter of his siblings. In his free time, Josh enjoys playing soccer, craft beer, Michigan State University Athletics, and spending time with his dachshund, Luke.

Sawyer Hicks

Sawyer Evelyn Hicks was born on December 31st, 2016. Sawyer is the daughter of Anthony and Rachel Hicks. Sawyer is the first born Grandchild for Greg (Gpa) and Stacie (CiCi). Sawyer enjoys eating blueberries and bananas. She loves spending time with her friends at daycare. Sawyer likes matching puzzles and going to the zoo with her parents. She loves her family and is spoiled with love. Please say hello to the beautiful flower girl on our wedding day.

Drew Walterhouse

Usher

Drew Walterhouse is one of Courtney and William's loving Brothers in law. Drew was raised in Eaton Rapids and Graduated from Eaton Rapids High school in 2007. In 2011 , Drew graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science, focused in fisheries and wildlife. In May of 2015, Drew married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Ashley. Drew and Ashley have a beautiful home in Mason with their yellow Labrador, Gilly. Drew is an avid outdoors man and steward of the land. Drew enjoys hunting, fishing and spending quality time with his family. Drew has played a very positive roll in the Hovey family and has a heart of gold.

Tyler Spohn

Tyler is one of William's best friends. Tyler and William first met in high school as opposing high school baseball pitchers. Tyler pitched a win for Ionia and gave William a loss. Their friendship didn't start then. Tyler graduated from Ionia High school in 2010. Their friendship began as freshmen in the fall of 2010 at Grand Valley State. In the summer of 2013; Bradley, Tyler & William lived together in an off campus apartment. Throughout their four years at GVSU they expanded their relationship and established lots of great memories. Tyler graduated from Grand Valley in 2014 with a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance. Tyler enjoys spending his time playing baseball/softball. He also enjoys spending time with his lovely girlfriend, Kelsie Hicks.
