Courtney and Dalton first met in college at Iowa State University in 2019. On their first date, they explored their college campus together talking about college, their futures and trees. Some could say, Dalton fell for Courtney on the first date (nearly into a puddle). After the first date, they knew they were meant to be together and had a lot of pizza dates on campus between classes. With the pandemic and Dalton moving to Wisconsin for work, they spent 2 years long distance. Although this distance did not keep them from growing closer together. A few of Courtney and Dalton’s favorite memories together include — traveling, hiking, trying new restaurants, and cooking/baking together at home.

Dalton proposed to Courtney in March of 2022, while on spring break on the west coast. After Dalton had a nervous ride to the trailhead, rehearsing what he would say or which knee he was supposed to be on, he asked Courtney to marry him at the bottom of Watson Falls in Oregon. Although this was not a surprise to anyone, even Courtney had predicted it would happen on their trip. But Dalton disagrees, he thinks Courtney was surprised.

Now on their fifth dating anniversary, Courtney and Dalton ask that their family and friends surround them with love to celebrate their “I Do’s” and begin their lives together as the Hauschens!
