Wade and Courtney serendipitously met at the KC Golf Classic in 2019, the Korn Ferry Tour golf tournament in Kansas City. Wade was playing in the tournament and Courtney was the volunteer chairperson of the event. A month later Wade traveled back through KC and they went on their first date of course playing golf.

Wade proposed to Courtney at his home in Fayetteville, GA while Courtney was spending the 4th of July holiday with the Binfield family.
