The Story of Us (Courtney's Version)

First comes love, then comes marriage

Cenzo and I met in college and were good friends before we started dating, which I believe is a huge reason why we fell for each other. One of my favorite things about "our story" is that Cenzo knew me for exactly who I was. He had seen all of my highs and all of my lows, and still, for some reason, asked me on a date one night. Here's a quick synopsis of the past 10 years together: 2012-2013- Cenzo and I met in college (shout out Rider University). We took our first picture at TCNJ Homecoming. 2014- Cenzo and I became close friends and a few months later he asked me to go to dinner with him. He still makes fun of me today about how we didn't utilize the "all you can eat" sushi deal enough. 2015- Cenzo officially asks me to "be his girlfriend" in the Rider University library while I was studying for my Praxis test (to become a teacher). I remember immediately texting my friends, "omg, omg omg!!" 2015- I graduate from college while Cenzo is a Junior. Here's a quick little story about my graduation day. Our college graduation was on the main lawn area outside, and he had noticed an elderly couple in the parking lot confused as to where to go. He had gone out of his way to help the older couple find their way, and they were super thankful for him. Who would have thought that a few hours later, as my family and Cenzo met each other after the graduation, that the older couple would be my GRANDPARENTS. At this time, my family hadn't met Cenzo yet, and no one (including my grandparents) knew who he was. I remember my dad saying to his parents, "Wait, THIS is the kid who helped you?" From there, I was absolutely certain that Cenzo was a stand-up guy, and that he was someone I’d want to spend the rest of my life with. 2016-2017- Cenzo graduates and we visit each other on weekends between Rider, Edison, and Brick. 2018- We move in together in our 2 bedroom, 1 bath, duplex house in Point Pleasant. 2019- We constantly have all of our friends over in our little home and make some of the best, most unforgettable memories. 2020- We all know where this is going! Our plan was to only be in our Point Pleasant house for about two years, however, COVID hit, and four years later we were still there. I wouldn't change a thing. 2021- I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the loss of Cenzo's step-father, Bob. He was one of the greatest people I’ve ever met and our wedding day will not be the same without him, but we know he's always with us. April 2022- Cenzo proposes! Yay. I thought we were going out for our anniversary, but surprise! After the proposal, he surprised me again by renting out a room filled with all of our family and closest friends. It was the best day ever. September 2022- After a year of putting in countless offers on homes, our offer was finally ACCEPTED and we move into our forever home in Brick. 2022 was a big year for us. :) 2023- We somehow manage to renovate our kitchen, plan a wedding, and be a part of all of our friends' special days too. I am truly so thankful for Cenzo, and the past years spent together. We're each others' best friends, we've grown so much together, and continue to bring out the best in each other. We cannot wait to celebrate our love with our family and friends on our wedding day! Cheers to forever!
