Thom’s best friend since rooming together sophomore year at the College of Wooster. That was over half of their lifetimes ago and they definitely don’t feel old about it. Brendan and Thom learned to whistle together through repetition and sheer force of will in 2009. This is the least weird defining moment of their friendship we could share.
Joe Mabie
Officiant & Groomsman
Thom frequently relies on Joe to carry conversation in social situations so he was a natural fit to be our officiant. Joe and Thom have forged a strong bond over their mutual enjoyment of wings, frequently accompanied by beer and sports. Real dude stuff.
Matt Zurawel
Groomsman
Matt is the first friend Courtney made in Wisconsin. Thom and Matt met through Courtney even though they’ve both worked at Epic for over a decade. It’s just that big of a place. Matt is the best uncle to Ricky, Spidey and Owen and one of their preferred houseguests.
Emily Shekleton
Maid of Honor
Courtney’s favorite (and only) sister. Courtney and Emily share a strong love of animals and the Jonas brothers that borders on obsession. Auntie Emily is a beloved fixture among Thom and Courtney’s boys. Sometimes a bit too beloved by Spidey.
Jess Bolts
Bridesmaid
Courtney met Jess through Tara, and quickly they became a close group of friends. Jess is the most reliable and generous friend anyone could ever ask for. In fact she frequently needs to be told to stop being so generous. She’s that hardcore.
Tara Stewart

Courtney met Tara through mutual friends soon after moving to Madison, forming the nucleus of a great friend group that now includes pretty much everyone on this page. They started off sharing the joys of the single life together, and now they bond over being in their engaged eras. They do their best work together over shopping, particularly at thrift stores.
Jasmine Wong

Courtney met Jasmine shortly after they both moved to Madison. They connected through Bumble BFF, met up for bunch, and the rest is history! Jasmine is currently thriving in her new mom era.
Spidey
Best Dog
Thom adopted Spidey in November 2017 and the two have been basically inseparable since then. Spidey decided Courtney was his mom when Courtney and Thom moved into their house in February 2024. Spidey also got two cat brothers in the deal and he feels mostly ok about it.
Ricky
Largest Son
Courtney adopted Ricky (her firstborn) in October 2017 and since then he has vocalized his need for crunchies approximately 8 million times. Thom has slowly won him over since moving in together with consistent early feedings and fat scratches.
Owen
The Baby
Courtney adopted her Little O in September 2019 and he took to Thom right away when they met in December 2022 which absolutely melted Courtney’s heart. Owen can almost always be found on Courtney’s lap. Sometimes he’ll sit with his dad. Sometimes.
