FAQs

The Wedding Website of Courtney Siders and Sean Poynter
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black tie optional. However, we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top buttons is too tight, feel free to get comfortable when we start the dancing during the reception and bring some flip-flops, Florida style!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids, we really do, but we want our wedding night to be your night off and we respectfully ask that this be an adult only ceremony and reception.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation includes a guest, then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you!

Question

Will there be an open or cash bar?

Answer

Our wedding will have an OPEN BAR. It will also be heavily photographed and any drunken shenanigans will be mocked for years to come. Proceed with or without caution :)

Question

Will there be vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options?

Answer

Yes, we are having food stations so we have made our best effort to provide options for dietary restrictions. However, if you have any severe food allergies, please send those directly to (TBD) at the Colony Hotel (email to the Colony).

Question

Will there be parking at the wedding venue?

Answer

There will be valet parking provided by the Colony Hotel and Ubers are very easy to call from this location.

Question

Will the wedding be outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and the cocktail hour will be outdoors. The reception, dinner and dancing will take place inside the ballroom with outdoor seating options for guests that want to enjoy a Florida winter evening!

Question

What is the story behind the magpies in the logo?

Answer

When Courtney and Sean first met and started spending time in England, Sean told Courtney the story that magpies are rarely seen on their own. When you do see a magpie alone, you are supposed to ask, "Hello Mr. Magpie, where is your wife or mate?" and if you don't say this to a single magpie it is considered bad luck. Sean also called Courtney a magpie because they are known to love (and steal from windowsills!) shiny things. As they researched this common bird found in the UK they learned that magpies are rarely alone because they mate for life. After that it became a running theme that they were a couple of magpies!!

Question

Where can I share the photos and videos I took from the wedding with the bride and groom?

Answer

On the gallery page of this website there is a QR code, please scan it with your phone camera and it will bring you to GuestPix where you can drop in all of your photos and videos to share with us!

Question

If we want to write a check to the couple as a gift, who should be on the check?

Answer

Due to our difference in country residences, if you choose to write a US check, you can make it payable to Courtney Siders. If it is a UK check, you can make it payable to Sean Poynter. If you put both names on a check we will be able to double endorse upon Courtney's name change and the addition of one another on our bank accounts after we are legally married. Thank you!!!
