Flight
So here's the thing with booking flights to Freeport, Bahamas - search engines don't always like them. If you're finding unfriendly legs or prices, here are a few tips to find more options: 1) Depending on where you're coming from, you may have direct flights to Nassau (NAS), which is on a different island. But search engines don't ever make this suggestion for you. So if it's a better option to fly direct to Nassau, separately look up flights on either BahamasAir or Western Air for Nassau to Freeport. Airlines that fly to Freeport from abroad include: American, BahamasAir, and Silver (notoriously late) Airlines that fly to Nassau from abroad (besides those above): Southwest, JetBlue, United, Delta, and British Airways 2) Similarly, for some unbeknownst reason, breaking up your flights into individual legs can sometimes shave dollars off the price, even if it's the same exact flights as shown on a single booking. E.g. look at New York to Miami + Miami to Freeport, rather than just New York to Freeport. 3) Depending on the day of the week and time of year, the following airports can have direct flights to Freeport: Miami (daily), Fort Lauderdale (daily), Nassau (daily), Raleigh (on Thursdays & Sundays), Toronto (Saturdays), Milan (yes, Italy), Bimini (daily), and Abaco (daily) 4) Private charter: a few different services are available from the Miami/Fort Lauderdale/West Palm Beach area, and depending on the size of your group can sometimes be an economical option
Travel Note
It wouldn't be The Bahamas without some boat options. While Pirates of the Caribbean did film a couple movies here, the pirate ships are no more. For the seafaring folks, there are some ways to get here across the water: 1) Margaritaville At Sea - why not take an overnight booze cruise on a full cruise ship from West Palm Beach, Florida? They offer some flexible options to do one-way or varied date returns 2) Balearia Ferry - we'll be frank that it's not a fast cruise. It's a ~3hr ride from Fort Lauderdale compared to the ~30 minute plane ride. But it's always an option if needed 3) Hitch a ride - know someone who's got a nice boat and is heading our way?
Rental Car
Mention you're here for the Teicher/Cardin wedding for a discount. There will be shuttle buses for wedding events from certain hotels, but if you want to explore the island, you'll be wanting a rental car or to hire a taxi. And there is no Lyft or Uber If Brad’s is out of cars, Hertz is another reliable option
