We first encountered each other one day in a wrestling room at Simpson College, the church wrestling room to be exact since the actual one was under renovation. He was practicing and eyeing me, which I was totally digging to be honest. He was cute and I needed to figure out his name, so I asked around. I found out I had a mutual friend who ultimately set us up, we met a few days later as I confidently went to his dorm room and we haven't stopped talking since.

The original master plan had been foiled minutes before... Plan B: After showering and disappearing, he went to retrieve his bag which contained the ring. I was sitting with my family after we had endured a grueling half-marathon on the hottest day of the year, which also happened to be an obstacle course. We had no clue why Ryan had left the group to go on his own but we were all exhausted, so we didn't send anyone to find him. Eventually he found his way back to the group, and started his plan B. He handed Kyleigh my phone with it already on record, but said nothing. He sneakily showed a box and she instantly knew. While I was not feeling the best, Ryan was randomly on one knee and it did not register what exactly was happening. I stared and made the comment, "no, no, this can't be happening, what, no no." Ryan responds, "well, is that your answer?". I yelled back, "No, ask me again!!!" Of course I said yes. Thank goodness he made it through those 10+ miles to make me the happiest girl on the planet.
