Have a drink and a dance at one of the many bars or clubs in Les Quais. After years of neglect, the former wet docks are the city’s newest hot spot, with a number of cafés, restaurants, bars and clubs. more important, if you want jog or if you like to rollerblade (Courtney still wondering why i keep my rollerblad at home). Feel to go for a jog or a walk along the river of la Garonne. So beautiful, so french: Bordeaux or "the little Paris" as I like to describe it sometimes: only old stones and wooded balconies, almost no car, probably the Tramway is for something. I love my city Bordeaux. Rachid
7, rue Ferrère. Definitely worth a visit if you are interested in Modern Art. The Richard Long slate line-up on the roof is a permanent feature. Exhibits are always changing and the museum is an inspiring place for installations. I visited this museum few times while I lived there. It really depends on the artist that exposed. Hit or miss. Little info : They offered a brunch on Sunday all you can eat but you all woulnt not need want since we are inviting you a brunch on sunday at the Chateau-de-la-Ligne. There is restaurant there the "K Baroque" with a great atmosphere. Rachid
La Cité du Vin is a unique cultural centre dedicated to the universal, living heritage of wine. It offers a spectacular journey around the world, throughout the ages, across countless cultures and civilisations. Dave G and I went visited this museum last summer for the first time, and we even took a wine class tasting. so much fun! one of a great spot that i recommend if you like history and wine. check this out. easy access with Tramway or just rent a city bike. perfect and easy ride!! The Miroir d'eau or Miroir des Quais in Bordeaux is the world's largest reflecting pool, covering 3,450 square metres. Located on the quay of the Garonne in front of the Place de la Bourse, it was built in 2006. Located at place the la bourse where my former Ryan Harvey and I used to live back in 2008. It is such beautiful square and you can go to one of our favorite restaurant there: " Ragazzi del Pepone", remarkable italian restaurant. if you want something more fancy, i will suggest the Bistrot Gabriel right there. This is my old neighborhood where Ryan Harvey and I used to live back in 2008. i love le "quartier saint Pierre" plenty of good cafe or good restaurant. Louisa's favorite coffee shop: " Chez Karl", you can enjoy succulent french viennoiseries and seat outside drinking an Expresso or a Cappuccino and watching people looking at the beautiful Square of Parlement with its fountain in the middle. other place to check out: Chez Jean, Le Petit Savoie, La brasserie Bordelaise (one of my fav), Restaurant Marracheck to discover or craving some Maghreb flavor (but not as good as my Grandma Couscous, !!)
Seriously, i cant recommend enough to check this cute village about 30mn from Bordeaux Downtown. Every time i visit my family i have to spend a least half day there and it is a priceless. I would recommend to spend few hours and schedule in advance a wine tour if possible.Rachid
