Nathan and Courtney met on September 14, 2018 at Dante’s Pool Bar in Key West. An unlikely venue for a couple who would rather be in bed by 9pm than at a place whose website describes it as “a DJ-fueled hangout and Aquaholic’s paradise.” Yet, a bachelor party for Nathan’s friend Hamza and a scuba certification trip with Courtney’s friends KJ and Sierrah brought the two to Tripadvisor’s 26th best rated bar in Key West. A couple of weeks later, against the advice of her friends and pretty much every personal safety website, Courtney travelled to an unfamiliar city to visit Nathan in New York and the relationship began. A long-distance relationship with Courtney working in Roanoke, Virginia catered to Nathan’s love of flight booking with many weekend trips for the two between New York and Roanoke. In the start of 2020, two years into the relationship, Courtney moved to Connecticut to begin PA school. For the first time, the couple were within a short commute and later moved in together in New York in April 2021. According to marriage experts, the couple has saved countless hours of future counseling learning to live together in a New York studio apartment.
