Michael and I met over 11 years ago, when he was working as a Sgt. in recruiting for the sheriff’s office. He did my interview and was secretly in love with me then. (Not really) Fast forward a few years and Michael was assigned to detentions. I usually discourage people to find love in jail, but it has certainly worked for us. You can find love in jail, as long as neither of you are sitting in a cell. We exchanged numbers at work one day, during a casual conversation. We met for beers at Buffalo Wild Wings and hit it off pretty well. That spring, I asked Michael to play on our softball team. We started spending Monday nights playing softball together. When we finally had a night off from softball, Michael invited me over for dinner and made all of my favorite foods. That was April 30, 2018. That’s our anniversary of our first official date. We’ve been living together for a few years now and December 21st, 2024, Michael proposed. That was the best day ever! Now, we are excitedly waiting for June 20th, so we can be husband and wife!
