It All Started With a Drink

And a Halloween Party...

Some of you have come here knowing Matt, some of you have come here knowing Courtney, but what you may not know is how these two found each other! October 28th, 2017 in Glen Burnie, Maryland at a sports bar named Sidelines is where it all began. Courtney was headed there with her good friends, ready to celebrate Halloween early and feeling very festive in her lifeguard costume! Matt, on the other hand, had been invited by the same friends, with the promise of meeting someone they thought he would hit it off with... but he was debating not going! He rolled into Sidelines an hour or two after everyone had been there, not even in costume! Good thing Courtney chose a cute costume and not a zombie bride! (Mean Girls, anyone?) They chatted most of the evening (Courtney chatted, Matt is a very good listener) and exchanged numbers. They continued their conversations for a week or so before Matt asked her on a first date. The date was splitting a bottle of red wine together at Matt's house and getting to know each other, and this was the last time Matt ever drank wine with her! They continued on several dinner dates before the holidays and continued to have meaningful conversations as their relationship blossomed. Three years later (almost) Courtney booked a photo session to take photos for Christmas cards. Little did she know, Matt had been waiting for just such an opportunity! He worked with the photographer behind the scenes to plan the proposal and sealed the deal by pretending to know nothing about the shoot - he didn't know what clothes to wear, where to go... He really sold it! Finally, in front of his parents, sister, and our three dogs he dropped down on one knee! It was the surprise of a lifetime! They knew they wanted a small, intimate wedding with just those closest to them - instead of the traditional wedding. As the day quickly approaches, they cannot wait to share it with you!
