Our story started long before either of us realized it would become forever. We went to the same high school and met through mutual friends, but one of our earliest memories together involved Mathis tattooing the inside of my lip with the word “meow” (sorry, Mom). Life took us in different directions after that, and we lost touch for several years. Years later, everything changed when I reached out to Mathis to get a tattoo on my arm at the shop where he was working. After that day, we started spending time together almost every day, and it quickly became clear that we never wanted to stop. We officially started dating in October 2020, and from the very beginning, being together felt easy, natural, and fun. The next year, we moved in together and welcomed our dog, Bandit, into our lives. Anyone who knows us knows Bandit is a huge part of our little family. Some of our favorite memories with him are beach hikes, late night walks around the neighborhood, and car rides to In-N-Out. Over the years, we’ve built a life around the things we love most — spending time with our families, traveling together, taking trips to Palm Springs, trying new restaurants, relaxing by the pool or jacuzzi, going to Disneyland every year, and recently discovering how much we love going to concerts together. In September 2024, Mathis proposed during a family trip to Hawaii. We were walking alone to the beach when he asked me to marry him, and it was one of the most perfect and unforgettable moments of our lives. We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by all of the people we love most.
