Courtney and Jordan met on Hinge. Just a couple of weeks before they matched, Courtney had decided she wasn’t going to date anyone with kids. At one point that night, Jordan reached his hand out behind him as they walked inside, and when Courtney grabbed it they both swear they felt a tiny spark. By the end of the week they had already gone on four dates and were basically inseparable. That same week, Courtney wrote in her journal that, as crazy as it sounded, she thought she had just met her husband. In January 2025, Courtney and Jordan traveled to Italy and Switzerland with their friend Shay to celebrate Courtney’s 40th birthday and Jordan’s birthday four days later. The trip began with a little chaos when their luggage was lost for several days, sending them running through Milan to buy emergency clothes before heading to Switzerland. While celebrating Jordan’s birthday in Lucerne, Courtney was telling a story about visiting the Alps years earlier and how magical it had been. While she stepped away from the table, Jordan and Shay quietly decided that if the weather cooperated the next morning and they went up the mountain, that would be the moment. The next morning they took a boat across Lake Lucerne and a train up into the Swiss Alps. At the summit, the clouds had cleared and the views were breathtaking. While Courtney was distracted photographing a tiny bird perched on a snowy log, Shay suggested taking a photo of the two of them together.
