Jordan & I were first virtually introduced on March 23, 2014, by his brother, Jared. Jared's exact words were "I have someone for you, I think you both would be perfect." Naturally, I asked Jared who he had in mind, and he said my brother, Jordan. I asked to see a picture and of course he shows me a Jordan "esque" photo of him looking very dapper in a suit. I said give him my twitter and make it happen. A few hours later, Jordan "DM'd" me on twitter and our romance began. We talked about everything from our favorite sports teams (GO BIG BLUE), to our love of cooking and favorite foods, favorite music genres, goals, aspirations, deep love for our family and friends, and pretty much anything and everything in between down to our dream kitchens including a simultaneous text about our favorite refrigerator, the Sub-Zero. From that moment on, we spoke everyday. I was in my junior year of college in Buffalo, NY and was so excited to get back home to start my summer break and finally meet Jordan in person. On May 8, 2014, I packed up my car and my best friend Nicole and we headed to Wappingers Falls. My birthday was just two days away, not having anything planned at the time, Jordan asked if we would like to come over to his parents house as a party was already being thrown by Jared for prom. Of course, I accepted. I remember pulling up to the house and telling Nicole how nervous I was but by the time she could respond, Jordan was already walking up the driveway. I got out of the car and Jordan came over, said hello and hugged me tight. The first words out of my mouth was the infamous phrase "you smell good". He laughed and walked us toward the front door. As we got inside he had flowers and my favorite candy waiting for me. I was so impressed that he not only remembered it was my birthday the next day, but also my favorite types of candy. We were all having a great time at the party. I met some of his family and friends, we danced, we sang, we played pool. I remember looking at my phone and seeing the time was 11:58pm. It was about to be my birthday! I remember the music turning off and Jordan announcing to everyone at the party that it was about to be my birthday and he would love it if everyone could sing to me. As the clock struck midnight, I had a room full of then-strangers (most of whom close friends/family), sing me Happy Birthday. I was in total awe and remember feeling so special for the remainder of the night. From that moment on, I knew Jordan was going to be a huge part of my life and Jared was right - Jordan is my forever someone.
